Irish Session Greifswald

Irish Session to play along or listen

Our Greifswald session has existed since April 2013. We are enthusiastic musicians who come together to live the Irish tradition of the session. We play reels, jigs, slipjigs and the like, but also mazurkas and Danish traiditionals. As long as it stays in the session feeling, it's all fair game.

Anything that can be playedis welcome as an instrument. So far we have had: accordion, buzuki, banjo, fiddle, guitar, harp, mandolin, flute, jew's harp, bodhrán and frame harp, tin whistle and of course vocals.

We are an open session. Interested musicians are welcome to come along and play. Listeners are also always welcome and you can make a request (as long as we can play the piece).
