The panel discussion will focus on the far-reaching processes of change in the Islamic Republic of Iran. These affect both the internal power structures and the country's foreign policy positioning. At the interface of social dynamics and geopolitical reorganization, fundamental questions about Iranian statehood in the 21st century will be discussed. What interactions exist between the transformation of civil society and the established system of rule? What are the strategic implications of Iranian foreign policy for the multipolar power architecture of the Middle East?
