Based on specific film scenes, the respective cultural and religious motifs of the epic film "Dune" will be presented in three keynote speeches from a Jewish, Christian and Muslim perspective.
We will immerse ourselves in the fascinating world of Denis Villeneuve's epic film "Dune" and explore the multi-layered religious symbolism interwoven in this epic tale. The focus is particularly on the Messiah figure of Paul Atreides and the Fremen people. Using specific film scenes, the respective cultural and religious motifs will be explored in three keynote speeches from Jewish, Christian and Muslim perspectives. The guests will then enter into a discussion with each other and with the audience. The political aspect will also play a role: where and how can parallels be drawn between the ancient idea of the Messiah and current phenomena in our predominantly secular society? A warm invitation to an enriching interreligious discussion!
