Internationaler Feministischer Kampftag Mannheim

In the organizer's words:

On March 8, we are going out under the motto "We are fighting. We strike. We live" on the streets! We are fighting for equality and justice for all genders - because women, or FLINTA*, are still suffering under patriarchy!

The fact is - we live in a patriarchal system that was created by men for men!

This male form of rule oppresses everyone who doesn't fit in. Women, but also queer people and men who do not fit into the classic image of masculinity.

This patriarchal violence is worldwide - we stand in solidarity with the survivors of sexualized violence in all wars and with the feminist struggles against the rulers in places like Kurdistan, Iran and Afghanistan.

Historic achievements in women's rights that enable us to live a more equal life today did not come out of the blue, but are the successes of decades of hard struggles that women's rights activists have won for us!

We must defend past successes if, for example, the CDU/CSU plans to overturn the new Self-Determination Act or if the Istanbul Convention on the Protection of Women, which was adopted long ago, is not implemented by German politicians. We must fight for future successes and cannot rely on politicians who, for example, do not stop at discrimination in access to shelters in the current Violence Assistance Act.

Let's continue to write feminist history! For freedom, for equality, for self-determination, for protection and for justice!
