Internationale Kurzfilmwoche

In the organizer's words:

The Regensburg Short Film Week was founded in 1994 by the Arbeitskreis Film Regensburg e.V. and takes place annually in March. Ten prizes are now awarded in five competitions, from international to regional. Fiction, documentary, animation and experimental film are given equal status.

Beyond the competitions, the broad special program deals with a thematic focus and a country focus. These are complemented by retrospectives, lectures, exhibitions and workshops.

For the youngest short film fans, children's and youth programs are curated and do-it-yourself workshops are offered. There are also specialist short film programs for schools. There is also the option of media education support.

Last but not least, the legendary record films - a live soundtrack of short films with records - and the Zündfunk party in the Leerer Beutel have made the Short Film Week a name for itself for thirty years and attract filmmakers and other short film addicts to the charming cinemas of the cathedral city!
