INSEL Film: KORPORAL ZOO

In the organizer's words:

"Korporal Zoo" is a series of video works in which Maria Korporal observes the animal and human world and depicts it from a cultural, social and ecological perspective. She began this work-in-progress project of photographs, films, drawings and collages in 2010 and has since continued to develop it using various techniques.

Maria Korporal uses the latest technical possibilities to expand her visual world, but her art has none of the clean aesthetics that artists often strive for with these tools. With her alienated naturalness, she has created a typical Korporal cosmos that appears "oldschool" in a touching and humorous way.

Born in the Netherlands in 1962, the artist addresses the burning issues of our time without ever being preachy or moralizing.
