HTW - WERKSCHAU 2024 - Save the date !

The Faculty 5 | School of CULTURE + DESIGN of the Berlin University of Applied Sciences celebrates WERKSCHAU and opens its doors to all those interested in culture, new students, alumni, professionals from the cultural and creative industries, all residents, young and old.

Thu. 18.07. & Fri. 19.7. from 2 - 9 pm + Sat. 20.7. from 2 - 6 pm || Live and free of charge !

Over 1500 students show their current work in the fields of communication design, fashion design, industrial design, system design, clothing technology, restoration,
landscape archaeology and museology, as well as museum management and communication.

There is a colorful program of over 99 presentations, installations, guided tours, fashion shows and exhibitions with graphics, photographs, models, citizen participation, virtual reality. There is something happening everywhere: open studios, workshops and laboratories provide insights into digital prototyping, screen printing, machine knitting, sewing, model making, the analysis of cultural assets and much more.

Project highlights
The new "Public Design" course invites the public to discuss how public life can be better designed | Historical airplanes tell lies that can be forensically exposed | The "Creatives for Future" show that sustainable design is much, much more than recycled stationery | Technical innovation heralds the end of the future | Mushroom mycelia open up new possibilities in industrial design | And in the Green Planet Berlin exhibition, children take over the future of the capital, because adults can no longer be relied on.

Program highlights
On Fri. 19.7. there will be the IDiA Demo Day with presentations and pitches by the currently funded start-up teams. And on Sat. 20.7. we are looking forward to the big open-air fashion show with 80 hot designs.
