Honey Hush - Blues comes to town!
Honey Hush - named after a blues classic by Billy Joe Turner from 1953 - play authentic and rarely heard blues and rhythm'n'blues classics from four decades. The blues harp of Honey Hush frontman Frank Born (Willich) is a style-defining feature. Born has been one of the most recognized German blues harpers for many years and has shared the stage with numerous international blues greats. His counterpart is guitarist Matze Heft, whose style is influenced by the British rock of Rory Gallagher and the Texas blues of Johnny Winter. Honey Hush's program logically includes songs by blues harp greats such as Slim Harpo or the J. Geils Band. But guitar blues numbers by Muddy Waters or ZZ Top should also get your feet tapping. Honey Hush is completed by drummer Selim Öztamur from Krefeld, who has played with Born and Heft in various formations for many years, and the accomplished bassist Radovan Valjak. In June 2024, Honey Hush won the Vestische Blues Award.
