The tour through the University of the Arts Bremen

The University Days provide special access to art, design, media and music.

Exhibitions, concerts, performances and lectures give you the opportunity to experience the university and its studios and workshops up close and get to know studying at the HfK. Visitors can also look forward to the presentation of the newly awarded works of the university prize winners.

This year's theme of the University Days, Point of View, focuses on the perspectives behind the exhibited works. At the same time, it invites visitors to contribute their own points of view. This creates a lively exchange that combines different perspectives.

This interdisciplinary project brings together students from the fields of fine arts, fashion, music and video. The call for the curtain, the end of the performance, becomes the exhibition moment itself.

In the etching workshop, the creation of a relief print will be demonstrated using large-format, historical woodcut printing blocks.

In the video and sound installation "Karl Marx Stadt 12-1987.mpg - Chemnitz 01-2025.wav" by Hanna Stijnen, personal memories meet historical events in the city of Chemnitz.

14:00 WILD MIX / C.A.T.E - Communication Art Typography Exploration (Room 1.04.000 (C.A.T.E.), Speicher XI)
Screening and exhibition of events and courses in the fields of editorial design, typography, communication design and type design.

14:00 Drawing nothing: performance (Room 3.11.Corridor, Speicher XI)
A visual interpretation of the master project Drawing Nothing - a performance that explores inner narratives and a process-oriented approach to drawing.

14:30 Formerly Known As - Performance (Room 1.15.080 and corridors, Speicher XI)
"Formerly Known As" is a collective project of the Freie Klasse that explores collective renaming - inspired by the flocking behavior of birds, it invites you to move together through the HfK Bremen.

15:00 Flash & Cash - Experimenting with Riso Printing (Room 1.04.000 (print pool), Speicher XI)
Open workshop for designing and printing with the bright and sustainable colors of the risograph. Number of participants: 8 people

Liberal arts project: Inspired by Ahmed Rashid Thani, "goarwywasyt" began in the winter semester 2024/25 as weekly meetings with poetry readings and writing sessions.

16:00-17:30 FRÄCH - Salon (Room 3.11.020, Speicher XI)
A feminist salon for 15-20 people that creates space for open and transparent discourse. Accompanied by inspiring *SnÄcks* and *TÄe*, a cozy atmosphere is created that leaves its mark beyond the salon during the university days. The room's glass doors symbolize the visibility and openness of the discussion. Registration until Saturday, 15:30 at fraechsalon@hfk-bremen.de.

"Entangled Histories of Art and Migration" is a research project at the HfK that deals with the relationships between art and migration from various global perspectives.

14:00 Modular Monday + Fictions, Speculations and Imaginaries (1.07.050 (Radio Angrezi), Speicher XI)
Modular Monday is a performance series of sound and music works loosely connected to electronic and digital artifacts and concepts. It provides a platform for raw, unfinished and experimental situations and serves as a semi-public, semi-informal rehearsal space where artists and audiences can share common interests and ideas, discuss and dialog.

This event includes a series of performances, each presenting a 5-15 minute set, followed by conversations about the featured works, techniques, technologies and concepts.
