The Long Night of Unfunded Projects
Who hasn't experienced it: there's this idea for a play, a performance, a book, a series of events, a PROJECT. Project applications are submitted, obstacles such as forms and cost financing plans are overcome, infinite patience is shown and hope is cultivated. And then it comes - the day when the rejection flutters into the house and it is clear: this idea will not get any money. The project cannot be realized - at least not as planned. And now? Give it away, forget it, auction it, scrap it? Manifest money from somewhere? Put it in a drawer forever later?
We know this and we know that it hurts! Because we firmly believe in all the great ideas out there. And we are extremely curious to see what we will have missed out on! Almost anything is possible in the subjunctive - which is why we invited Bremen artists to put their unfunded projects in the deserved spotlight at least once during the "Long Night of Unfunded Projects".
Artists and groups based in Bremen could apply - with nothing more than the title of their project and an indication of the genre (e.g. performance, dance, book project, ...). Ten projects will be drawn from the submissions to present themselves on stage at the Long Night of Unsupported Projects. For this we offer: A screen, a projector, 1-2 microphones, a PA, a fog machine, a maximum of 15 minutes of spotlight and 200,- expense allowance.
After the presentation of the projects, we invite you together with the LAFDK and invited guests (including Martina von Bargen, Landesverband darstellende Künste Niedersachsen and Alexander Hauer, Landeverband darstellende Künste Bremen) to an exchange about sustainable funding instruments of the future and toast to all the good ideas out there!
In cooperation with the LAFDK Bremen
