A play for people aged 8 and over by Rainer Besel

Mr. Pumper and Mrs. Nickel work in the workspace of a large company. Their everyday life is dull and boring: "formulating, editing, corresponding, acknowledging, checking - serving coffee on time". There's not much more to it than that, and Ms. Nickel eventually finishes her coffee. "The work doesn't do itself, but it does us by itself," she philosophizes.

Mr. Pumper has an understanding and so the two begin to fill the boredom. They perform the madcap story of Leonce and Lena based on Georg Büchner's PoPo and PiPi, which leads to a happy ending after many amusing capers.

Raphael Batzik and Aless Wiesemann, the directors of Scene 10, known from A Christmas Carol, The Physicists and Pulp Fiction, slip into many roles under the direction of Thos Renneberg, transforming themselves and their office into a castle tower, a jungle, a marketplace and back again with the simplest of means. Great fun for children aged 8 and over and adults too, of course.
