Striker is an electrifying novel about a present in which the boundaries between conspiracy myths, class warfare and raw violence are becoming increasingly blurred.

N lives on a railroad line that connects a problem district with the villa district at the other end of the city. Two worlds. N knows both. And a third in the middle: the martial arts school where she teaches and prepares for competitions and begins an affair with a politician from the defense committee. Helene Hegemann tells of martial arts and homelessness, of wealth and repression with force and speed.

Helene He gemann made her debut as an author in 2010 with the novel Axolotl Roadkill, which has been translated into 20 languages and which she directed herself. She directs for opera, theater and film.

After working in Erlangen, Uppsala and Leipzig,Lisa Kreißler lives as a freelance author and literary critic on a farm in the Schaumburg region.
