Heimat in Vielfalt - Alanus Hochschule

In the organizer's words:

Heimat in Vielfalt are stories of exile, written and presented by students of the performART and Business & Drama courses at Alanus University. With poetry and sensitivity, they tell of home and elsewhere, of inside and outside.

With and without words, the scenes immerse us in the long shadow of war (Childhoods Choir), integration in a new country with more or less difficulties (Unterwegs), uprooting and its consequences across generations ("Schwarze Füße" and "Das erste Leben meiner Großmutter"). There is plenty to laugh about in "Barriers on Tour", an ill-conceived journey full of chaos and comedy, in which a deaf and a blind man flee from oppressive structures and discover something completely new in return. In "A Question of Time", an entire ensemble tap-dances against authoritarian structures (music by Pepe Theodor Fleuter and Dong Zhou). - These stories were created as part of Prof. René Harder's own production seminar. They all tell of people's desire for freedom.

"Heimat in Vielfalt" premiered on 14.09.2024 as part of the Körber Foundation's Days of Exile and the City of Bonn.
