Saxophonist Harri Sjöström is probably the most legendary member of this formation, having played for a time in some of Cecil Taylor's formations (there are 7 recordings with larger and smaller ensembles around Cecil Taylor) and completed workshops with John Cage, Vinko Globokar, George Russell, Steve Lacy and Bill Dixon in his early years. In Europe he has worked with Derek Bailey, Teppo Hauta-aho, Paul Lovens, John Russell, Paul Rutherford, Alison Blunt, Phil Wachsman and Alexander von Schlippenbach, among others.
The Austrian pianist Elisabeth Harnik has created a multifaceted oeuvre by blurring genre dividing lines through various collaborations in the field of improvised music, interdisciplinary projects and contemporary compositional works. She studied classical piano and later - with Beat Furrer - composition at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz. As an improviser, she works in an electro-acoustically inspired sound world, using specific preparations and extended techniques and pushing the limits of the piano. Her performances are characterized by physicality and introspection, intuitive playing and high precision.
London-based double bassist John Edwards has performed with musicians such as Roger Turner, Lol Coxhill, Maggie Nichols and Phil Minton. Between 1990 and 1995, Edwards was a member of several formations at the same time, such as the band God, B Shops for the Poor and The Honkies. He was also a regular accompanist for London's improvised music scene - since 1995 John Edwards has been one of the most active musicians on the London scene, playing between 150 and 200 gigs a year.
Drummer Tony Buck comes from Australia and lives in Berlin. He plays in legendary formations such as The Necks, Peril (with Otomo Yoshihide), Kletka Red (with Leonid Soybelman) and is an integral part of the bustling international improv scene (with Michiyo Yagi, Ned Rothenberg, Fennesz, Magda Mayas, Andy Moor, Lee Ranaldo, and many more).
