The Sleeveens

When Irish-born songwriter Stef Murphy from The Mighty Stef met Stiff Little Fingers guitar technician Jamie Mechan in Nashville, Tennessee, a musical partnership in a class of its own began.

After recording a few songs as a duo at the up-and-coming Studio 302 Sound, they expanded their project to include other musicians. The band was completed by drummer Ryan Sweeney (Cheap Time) and Eli Steele (Sweet Knives). They gave themselves the name The Sleeveens, an Irish term for a sly ear, and set to work.

After recording and releasing their highly acclaimed 45 single "Give My Regards To The Dancing Girls" on Sweeney's Sweet Time Records, they worked on their 11-track debut album. The quartet was soon signed to renowned punk label Dirtnap Records (Marked Men, Exploding Hearts) for an album release in 2024.

The resulting album is a tribute to classic punk that labels like Chiswick, New Rose and Stiff Records were releasing 45 years before the Sleeveens existed. With catchy melodies and screaming guitars, the four musicians have recorded one of the best albums of the year.

Murphy's penchant for charmingly brilliant and matter-of-fact lyricism exhibits a poetic quality similar to that of Mark E. Smith or Jonathan Richman.

With the masterful mixing by Jim Diamond (The White Stripes, The Dirtbombs) putting the finishing touches on the sound, "The Sleeveens" is an album that is uncompromisingly raw and thoughtful at the same time.

Los Carlos Marx Brothers

The Carlos Marx Brothers are an international revolutionary rock'n'roll band with members from our region and Mexico.
Their unique and wild style of (garage) punk rock is heavily influenced by bands like the Fells, the Mono-Men, the Pagans, MC5 and not too often by Ton Steine Scherben.

The Carlos Marx Brothers rock for a better planet in the Karl, Groucho and definitely Carlos Coca Gomez Marxism style.
