The 22nd Hamburg Comedy Cup

Germany's funniest competition starts a new round. 20 comedians and comediennes reach for the trophy - who will hold it in their hands?

Laughter in dark times: At the end of January, 20 artists will once again be vying for the coveted Hamburg Comedy Trophy, demonstrating over four evenings in a total of 17 shows what depths of humor and mother wit lurk in their cabaret and comedy programs. The comedians from all over the German-speaking world will descend on stages all over Hamburg on the competition days and deliver sparkling battles. Advance tickets for all shows are now on sale.

Stand-up, cabaret, music comedy - the stylistic versatility of the great cabaret artists is the focus of the competition. Who will make it to the winner's podium this year? The audience and a panel of experts will decide. The Hamburg Comedy Cup is one of the toughest and most popular cabaret competitions in the world.

Once again this year, the 20 hardcore humorists who have made it through the selection process to Hamburg will compete against each other in a maximum of four rounds. The HAUPTRUNDE starts on 24.01. in nine Hamburg city cultural centers and the Schmidtchen on the Reeperbahn, with two artists drawn by lot competing against each other. In the 5 shows of the HALF FINALS on 25.01., the winners from the previous day will compete against each other. This will be followed by the 2nd CHANCE on 26.01. and the grand FINALE on 27.01. - these two shows will take place in the home port of the Hamburg Comedy Cup, Schmidts TIVOLI on the Reeperbahn.

In the starting blocks for the Hamburg Comedy Pokal 2025 are Adrian de Greef, Christin Jugsch, Felix Treder, Lennart Hamann and Hannes Maaß, Liza Kos, Frau Lyse, Matthias Ludwig, Matilde Keizer, Michaela Obertscheider, Nele Mathew, Paul Langer, Paul und Willi, Phil Stadelmann, Raphael Breuer, Robert Alan, Sven Garrecht, Tarja Nani, Thomas Kornmaier, Tom Dewulf and Verena Richter.

The road to the winner's podium is relentless:

Fri. 24.01.2025, each at 8 pm in ten venues: HAUPTRUNDE

The whole of Hamburg will be the venue: two comedians/comediennes will compete against each other in ten cultural centers spread across the city. The opponents are drawn by lot, then each artist has 45 minutes to convince the audience and the respective house jury that his or her performance is a recommendation for the semi-final. The venues for the HAUPTRUNDE are: Brakula, Kulturzentrum BIM, Kulturhaus Eidelstedt, Ella Langenhorn, Kulturhof Dulsberg, Kulturhaus Süderelbe, Goldbekhaus, die Motte, LOLA and the Schmidtchen Theater.

Sat., 25.01.2025, each at 8 pm: 5 x HALF FINALS
The winners of yesterday's round will now compete against each other. Whoever makes it through one of the five semi-finals can start dreaming of the trophy! The venues are: Alma Hoppes Lustspielhaus, Brakula, Goldbekhaus, LOLA and Zinnschmelze.
But no need to bite your nails just yet: The artists eliminated in the MAIN and HALF FINALS will also get a 2nd CHANCE.

Sun., 26.01.2025 at 7 pm: 2nd CHANCE
The career changer's way to the grand final: At Schmidts TIVOLI on the Reeperbahn, all comedians/comediennes with the 2nd CHANCE ticket can really turn it up again and convince a jury that they deserve the sixth or seventh starting place in the grand final. Anyone attending this diverse show will therefore see five artists at once, who will be joking their heads off in ten-minute performances.
The evening will be hosted for the first time by Alice Köfer from Berlin.

Mon, 27.01.2025 at 19:30: FINALE
Those who are still laughing now will enter the stage of the Schmidts TIVOLI with their heads held high. Seven finalists will compete for a total of 6,000 euros in prize money. A jury will decide on places one to seven. And finally, the audience votes on who should receive the audience prize of 500 euros.
The evening will once again be hosted by comedian Sebastian Schnoy, the inventor of the Hamburg Comedy Cup.
