Hafenarchiv am Sonntag

In addition to our regular opening days, the Hafenarchiv is offering a special opening on some Sundays until the fall.

With the port archive, the Geschichtskontor in the Kulturhaus Walle Brodelpott has been operating a branch in Überseestadt for almost 20 years. In the new rooms at Auf der Muggenburg 30, in the old Kellogg's administrative headquarters, the archive now holds more than 6000 port images, sorted by theme and available for viewing in picture folders. A small library and themed folders with texts on the history of Bremen's ports, the Muggenburg and the old industries on the overseas island are available on site. The "Schiffe gucken" database will also be available on these days. It compiles all the entries of cargo ships into the ports of Bremen since the Second World War from various sources.

On Sundays, the volunteers from the port archive look forward to talking to visitors and providing support with research into the history of Bremen's ports in the "Schiffe gucken" database
