GUTS

In the organizer's words:

What if the well-known characters Carrie, Medusa, Marion Crane, Kara (AX400), Jennifer Check and Carmilla could have their say outside of their stories? What if they could laugh, swear and explain the numerous clichés in the horror genre? If they could ask themselves and the audience what FLINTA* would actually be like in horror if they were no longer stuck between sexualized and defenceless?

GUTS, a play development for ages 16 and up, takes the audience through the history of female characters in myth, literature, film and video games and brings the female monstrosity up close on stage.

The winter residency at EinTanzHaus is the prelude to this process. The team playfully explores the FLINTA* characters in the horror genre, moving through the spectrum of possible representations - from cliché to empowerment. Let's Go Girls!

About Theater Pandora

Theater PANDORA is an association founded by freelance artists in 2021 and based in Mannheim. PANDORA works on socially relevant topics, shows different realities of life, breaks and plays with clichés, combines seriousness and comedy and searches for answers to omnipresent questions - also and especially in children's and youth theater. How and why is the world changing right now? Do we want everything to stay the way it is? "DICHOTOMIA" (2021) & "SCHMORF" (2023) were the first two productions that set the course for PANDORA's profile. Now PANDORA wants to focus on young adults with the third production "GUTS" (2025) in cooperation with Theaterhaus G7.

About the winter residencies

In December, January & February, the EinTanzHaus will once again provide the stage for rehearsals and research. Once again this year, you can look forward to a great program of dance evenings, film screenings and residency presentations.

As the audience, you will move closer together on the curtained stage directly on the dance floor and be right up close to the action. So it's always worth checking our program page for the latest dates.
