Our wild herb hikes through the Bergisches Land region

In the varied hilly landscape, you will explore the diversity of plants in their natural habitat under guidance. You will learn how to identify wild plants such as nettles, foamy herbs, wild carrot, lime, hawthorn and others and find out which plants are suitable for herbal cuisine or home remedies. And, of course, you will learn about important collection rules relating to the protection of nature.

What can you expect?

• Identifying and collecting: Depending on the season, edible wild herbs, tree leaves, wild fruits and roots await you. You are sure to come across the odd poisonous plant and expand your knowledge.
• Collection rules and sustainability: Get tips on how to collect wild plants responsibly and protect nature in the process. We will also show you good collection points and give you practical tips on collecting in public spaces.
• Herbal cuisine and recipes: You will learn which wild herbs are particularly suitable for the kitchen or medicine cabinet and how they contribute to health through valuable ingredients and unique flavors and are also delicious!
• Expert guidance: At least 10 wild plants will be presented to you in detail along the way - including tips, recipes and tricks for using them.

Key data 5-hour wild herb hike:

- Guided wild herb hike in the Bergisches Land or Eifel region with a tour length of approx. 8-12 kilometers

- Expert instruction on the correct identification and collection of wild plants in nature

- Presentation of at least 10 wild plants, recipes, tips & tricks for collecting

- Information on collecting in nature/public spaces

- Pure walking time approx. 2-2.5 hours, break in the middle of the tour

- The exact starting locations will be announced shortly before the date (approx. 7-10 days), as they change and are planned at short notice
