GoGoGo - Junior Company Bonn

In the organizer's words:

Whether as a closed row or in a tight circle - the dancers form themselves into a homogeneous group. Almost simultaneously, however, individual dancers repeatedly seek a way out of the social formations, provoking their continuous change. To the rhythm of the electronic music, produced live by Szymon Wojcik, individuals merge again and again into a common body with repetitive movements and just as regularly break out of the formation. They cross the room in flowing movements, only to rejoin the group after a few seconds. The transitions between these forms flow seamlessly into one another in a simple and unagitated, almost inconspicuous manner.

The 15 or so dancers, aged between eight and 22, belong to the multi-award-winning Bonn Junior Company, which has now been experiencing and communicating freedom and self-confidence in contemporary dance for more than ten years. In "GoGoGo", their ninth project since being founded in 2012, they have worked with choreographer Rafaële Giovanola to explore various movement concepts and body languages such as voguing, folklore, rap, baseball and South Indian temple dance. Inspired by the piece "Runthrough" by their parent company Cocoon Dance, their ninth project since being founded in 2012 depicts the power of communal rituals, the dialog between bodies and the communication between individuals, the group and the space.
