What is GivingTuesday?

Giving Tuesday is the global day of giving, celebrated every year on the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving in the US. On this day, people, organizations and companies are encouraged to do good, donate and get involved.

With active movements in around 90 countries - from Estonia to South Sudan, Colombia and Canada, and of course here in Germany - Giving Tuesday supporters work all year round to promote engagement around the world and inspire countless people to take action, donate and get involved to make the world a better place.

In Germany, over 2,000 organizations are taking part in Giving Tuesday, including betterplace with its own donation platform, Aktion Mensch with an engagement platform and AfB gGbmh (Europe's largest non-profit IT company) is providing 30 laptops for non-profit organizations. The Federal Association of Volunteer Agencies (bagfa) participated with working forums and workshops in the run-up to Giving Tuesday. Last year, over 2 million euros in donations were collected on Giving Tuesday.
