Gewalt's music is a collision of chaos and order. With elements of industrial, no-wave, post-punk and electro, Gewalt launch an attack on the perversions of this world. Music as a form of violence? That's not what they're about, it's more about trying to deal with all the structural violence that constantly surrounds us, to fight against it, not to go under.

The band consists of the three musicians Patrick Wagner, Helen Henfling and Sol Astolfi, who throw themselves musically in front of the tireless, eternally whipping beats of their drum computer. Their clash of inescapable machine beats and the remnants of human emotions such as desire, sadness and euphoria driven by them invites you to dance the night away so that the morning never comes.

Plattenbau's sound ranges from noise rock to new wave, interwoven with arrangements reminiscent of krautrock and techno. The band is also influenced by club music and club culture as well as the numerous varieties of guitar music. Nevertheless, there is a distinct pop element to their songs, a love of catchy hooklines and tight arrangements.
