Opposite Wilhelma in Stuttgart, 1150 storage boxes are hidden behind an inconspicuous gray façade on seven floors. Every single box is filled with objects that mean too much to people to give them away. Each box is filled with a story.

LOKSTOFF! uses this place full of stories to approach the subject of inheritance in all its complexity. Because whether it's a mole, cookbook, flower vase, birthday song, ring, debt, house, company, debt - we are all heirs. Inheritance connects us with the past and the future and has very different dimensions - material, cultural, genetic. Few inherit materially, everyone inherits culturally in some way, and everyone inherits genetically anyway. The complexity of the topic is reflected in the complexity of the performative installation - text, dance, music and images accompany the audience as they embark on a journey of discovery through the corridors of SelfStorage.
