Gespräch: „Wie erinnern?“ Das Zwangsarbeiter*innen- und Krankensammellager Gremberger Wäldchen

From the early 1940s until 1945, there was a sick collection camp for forced laborers in Gremberger Wäldchen in the east of Cologne. Several dozen prisoners were murdered and others injured in a massacre during the evacuation of the camp in early April 1945. The "AG Bodendenkmal" has been campaigning for a memorial on the site of the former camp for some time. In a discussion, its representatives and academics will explore the question of how the history of the site and the crimes committed there can be commemorated.

To mark the anniversary of the dissolution of the camp for the sick, a guided tour of the site will take place on April 12, 2025 at 2 pm, during which the history of the camp and its prisoners will be explained.
