In countless masterpieces of painting, we see women with a book, but rarely learn anything about the contents. This time, the Women's Salon has set itself the task of filling in these gaps. Why, for example, does the Virgin Mary in the "Annunciation of the Lord" need a book? The Frauensalon not only provides the necessary book texts for the exquisite paintings, which are presented in large format.

The Salonieres are not concerned with whether the image and text fit together in terms of epochal history. Creative classifications neglect the usual reception histories. Away with the question of what the creator wants to tell us. It would only hinder our own vision. "True" is not up for debate; "enlightening" is mandatory. Afterwards, we might even be smarter and have had another enjoyable evening.
