Frau Meier, die Amsel

In the organizer's words:

Mrs. Meier is worried, big and small. Mr. Meier thinks she should write her worries on a piece of paper and hang it on a tree. Maybe they will fall down in the fall and then they will be gone, says Mr. Meier. Then Mrs. Meier finds a little blackbird and suddenly she no longer even thinks about the cake in the oven. Such a little blackbird and already so alone! Mrs. Meier teaches it to eat and fly. The flying? A play in which the impossible becomes possible, an amazing and yet probably true story.

Founded by Regina and Ralf Wagner in 1986, the puppet theater has been based in the Spandau Citadel since 1996, which is also where it got its name. The Theater Zitadelle has been invited to perform at various festivals in Germany and abroad. The crossing of boundaries between puppetry and drama, coupled with original ideas for plays, wit and irony, give the productions their very own charm.
