"A sheer endless, tearing maelstrom that draws the listener into the depths of the past and in the next moment hurls them back into the here and now of the sometimes difficult to bear present. The sound of the Berlin band Fotokiller clearly borrows from the post-punk era of the 80s without merely indulging in nostalgia and wallowing in the past. Existential fears about the future, love - what else - and the struggle for mental health in an everyday life characterized by efficiency between concrete walls are the themes behind the songs. With their heads held high, the band balances on the edge of everyday madness, threatening to slip into the abyss of eternal sadness at any moment, only to emerge from it with persistent strength the next moment and dance in defiance of the pitfalls and ills of city life."
