More than 200,000 people die of cancer in Germany every year. Systems biologist Lena Cords wants to change this and explains her innovative research approach in an interview with Johannes Büchs: using the connective tissue surrounding the tumor to fight cancer. This could lead to a new cancer therapy and save lives in the future.
