FoKi Fotografie für Kinder im Blockland

In the organizer's words:

Every child has their talents. Discovering and expressing their own creativity is a human right. Children's talents should be discovered and encouraged at an early age. This is what FoKi wants. The aim is to enable children and young people to direct their creativity and curiosity towards discoveries in nature with the help of photography. FoKi wants to take children and young people out into nature with a camera.

The Zentrum der Fotografie Bremen (ZeDeFo) organized a photo campaign in nature in Blockland for children and young people up to the age of 14. No matter whether they were beginners or advanced, and no matter whether they had a camera or not. ZeDeFo set up two "Basic photography skills" photo workshops in preparation for the day of action.

On November 30, 2024, 13 children and young people met at the Center of Photography. They took a large-capacity cab to Blockland and were looked after there in the Blockland e.V. village community center. Several hundred photos were taken in two hours. Afterwards, the children and young people talked about their experiences during the photo campaign. Due to lack of space, we can only exhibit some of the photographs.

The "FoKi" project in Blockland is documented in a book and is available from ZeDeFo.
