FLASHBACK#37: The Swingin‘ Bluebirds

Welcome to the twenties: No, in this case it's not about the current decade, but about that phase of the 20th century when fringed dresses and feather tiaras tore up the ballroom floor.

Anyone who missed out on the 1920s - and there are probably quite a few by now - now has the opportunity to immerse themselves in this era once again. Because the "little big band" The Swingin' Bluebirds from Dresden has dedicated itself to precisely this period and its characteristic swing sounds in the style of Duke Ellington or Fletcher Henderson. The band's repertoire includes numerous arrangements of popular formations of the "Roaring Twenties" such as Joe "King" Oliver, McKinney's Cotton Pickers or the Mills Blue Rhythm Band.

For 36 years now, The Swingin' Bluebirds around pianist Uwe Posselt have been enriching the local and national scene with their rousing live shows, which have already taken them to numerous festivals in the Netherlands, France, Denmark and England.
