Caboose is an Italian power duo (guitar and drums) inspired by Mississippi Hill Country Blues and influenced by Mediterranean folk music, active since 2018. After the release of their first EP, they were selected for the IBC in Memphis 2019 and reached the semi-finals in the duo category. They then embarked on their first tour across the US from Mephis to New Orleans, playing with the likes of Watemelon Slim, Eric Bibb and Robert Kimbrough. They have released three albums, the last of which, Awake Go Zero (BLOOS Records), was named the best Italian blues album of 2022 by radio station Mojo Station.
Since then, it has spread throughout Europe and beyond, thanks to radio broadcasts in Germany (Radio Eins), Italy (Rai Radio 3), Great Britain (Resonance FM), the United States (WWOZ) and live tours in which they have participated in prestigious festivals not only of blues music: from Paolo Fresu's Time in Jazz in Sardinia, to Trasimeno Blues, Bluesfasching Apolda, Mojo Station Blues Festival, Jeinsen Blues Festival, Vicenza Jazz and many more. Their style has been described by Rootstime magazine as a mixture of American dark rock and African blues; their music is "hypnotic and impressive", according to the American Blues Blast. In 2024, the Polish label How He Howls released their entire discography on vinyl.
