"Gotteskinder" takes a look at life in a strict evangelical free church in Germany and tells the story of siblings Hannah and Timotheus, who are caught between faith and self-discovery. Hannah has taken a vow of chastity, but when she falls in love with the new boy next door, Max, her convictions begin to waver. Her brother Timothy struggles with his sexual identity and desperately seeks "healing" because he believes his homosexuality is a sin. Both are faced with the decision of following the expectations of their devout parents or trusting their own feelings. (Source: Distributor)

Based on intensive research, the film impressively shows the inner conflict between personal freedom and the strict guidelines of a fundamentalist system.
