In the cultural melting pot of Haifa, the stories of four characters become intertwined in a web of lies and intrigue. Rami's girlfriend is pregnant. He doesn't want a child, she wants to keep it. His wealthy parents are in financial difficulties, but his mother simply ignores this and continues to plan a big family party unperturbed. Meanwhile, Miri, the sister of Rami's girlfriend, is busy with her daughter, who is suffering from depression - and at the same time trying to dissuade her sister from Rami. When a minor car accident occurs, it doesn't seem to mean anything. But it is enough to gradually bring the fragile structure to collapse.

SCANDAR COPTI (*1975 in Israel) is a filmmaker and visual artist. Together with Yaron Shani, he made the highly acclaimed film Ajami in 2009, which was nominated for an Oscar.

FILMFEST HAMBURG takes place from September 26 to October 5, 2024. Over 120 productions from all over the world will be shown as world, European, German or Hamburg premieres.
