Duty of Care - The Climate Trials

Duty of Care follows lawyer Roger Cox, who sues powerful states and corporations for climate protection. Roger Cox has successfully sued the Dutch government and oil giant Shell in a groundbreaking case - demonstrating that those in power have a duty of care to citizens to prevent climate change. The company, which has branches all over the world, is now obliged to reduce its CO2 emissions by 45% by 2030. When the judge announces the ruling, cheers erupt on the streets.

This first-of-its-kind ruling encourages climate activists around the world to take legal action against climate-damaging companies and inactive governments. The exciting film raises the question of whether climate litigation could be a new path for future generations of climate activists.
