On March 8, Schauspiel Dortmund invites you to the feminist theme day "Grilling Patriarchy" - a day full of exchange, art, ritual and empowerment.
The Blend Bazar, a self-organized FLINTA* market from Dortmund that brings together artists, activists and creatives, will kick things off. In addition to the opportunity to discover works and skills, the bazaar offers a diverse program: from joint mindfulness exercises and tattoo art to spaces for encounters and networking. There is time and space to spend the day together and open up new perspectives.
In the afternoon, we will join the demonstration of the 8 March Dortmund alliance (starting at 16:00 at Dortmunder U), but before that, a performative ritual will take place on the forecourt of the Schauspielhaus where we will symbolically "grill" the patriarchy.
To break the fast in Ramadan, not only the fast is broken, but also the patriarchy. We therefore cordially invite all guests who are taking part in Ramadan, as well as all those who have had a long journey, to the iftar to enjoy a small snack together before the Feminist Theme Day continues. The day ends with the concert "The Voice of Women", which brings together the voices of women from a wide range of backgrounds and age groups. This multilingual and polyphonic musical project combines works that reflect both Middle Eastern and European perspectives on the status of women and social coexistence.
We will end the day together in the foyer of the Schauspielhaus with music and drinks.
