Laundromat owner Evelyn Wang is drowning in the chaos of her everyday life: Her father's impending visit overwhelms her and the upcoming tax return is getting on top of her head. A trip to the tax office is unavoidable, but while she's in front of the tax inspector, her universe is completely shaken up. Space and time dissolve and the people around her, as well as herself, suddenly have other lives in parallel worlds. She discovers that she can access the abilities of other versions of herself. This is desperately needed, as she is entrusted with a great mission: to save the world from unknown evil.
