Fantasy Filmfest White Nights 2025
Creepy, funny, disturbing and crazy, wacky, breathless and stylistically elegant - the new edition of Fantasy Filmfest White Nights shakes us up with its multifaceted themes and moods. Real madness (THE SURFER aka Nicolas Cage in the title role) meets supernatural sensations (DEAD TALENTS SOCIETY from the Midnight Madness section of the Toronto Film Festival and San Sebastian Award winner THE WAILING). Steven Soderbergh's ghost film PRESENCE is also guaranteed to have a lasting effect, and we can confidently predict instant cult status for COMPANION starring Sophie Thatcher and Jack Quaid.
We are known to have a soft spot for French-language thrillers. With NIGHT CALL and MADS, we were able to win two highlights. But the program is also pleasingly international with ten films from a total of ten production countries, including disgusting splatter from South Africa (the "Melting" classic STREET TRASH in a new edition). In addition to great up-and-coming talents, there will be a reunion with festival-proven filmmakers - from Lorcan Finnegan to David Moreau, Ryan Kruger and Viljar Bøe. I beg your pardon - all in a single weekend? Of course! Because, as always, we bring the good films and you bring the good vibes. Here's to a good year 2025! We've already made a start...
