"Big opera for little people" - the Taschenoper Lübeck has been following this motto for 20 years and has successfully shown how to get children and young people interested in music theater in a playful way. After "Das magische Game - eine Zauberflöte" and "Hans und Greta" in previous years, Taschenoper Lübeck is now celebrating its milestone birthday with a new production at the Musikfest: "Science Fiction Opera". Two aliens in search of new sounds and melodies land on Earth. They soon realize that something is wrong here. Is it the humans or are there other things at play? Works by Beethoven such as his song cycle "To the Distant Beloved" or the "Moonlight Sonata" form the musical basis for the fast-paced confusion full of visual and acoustic irritations that follows. In the search for a solution to this mysterious communication confusion, an almost futuristic instrument finally comes into play. But surely the audience will help the two aliens on such a difficult mission, right?
