Faden im Knoten - Knoten im Faden

In the organizer's words:

Faden im Knoten - Knoten im Faden presents works from the eighth round of the Rhineland-Palatinate Cultural Office's art mentoring project. It is a project by female artists for female artists: Each round of the project, founded in 2004, consists of tandems of mentors and mentees, with the aim of accompanying female artists in their professionalization and providing a platform for young female talent in the visual arts.

A sustainable and productive network of female artists is created through each round, which takes shape spatially in Faden im Knoten. The cross-media diversity of the positions - from painting and sculpture to video art, photography and installation - form a fabric that evokes associations. These are associations of togetherness and reflections on the traces of encounters. The self and the other, nature and one's own body are reflected and deconstructed in the works and highlight current issues in the visual arts.

The three floors of the gallery become a meeting space in which the individual positions of the participants are condensed into a multi-layered thread in the knot.

The art mentoring project is run by the Rhineland-Palatinate Cultural Office and is currently funded by the Rhineland-Palatinate Ministry for Families, Women, Culture and Integration.
