F-Festival (F for *uck the Patriarchy)

In the organizer's words:

The F-Festival is taking place for the third time at Ballhaus Prinzenallee and will be held from March 3 to 9, 2025 . The festival aims to break through patriarchal narratives in theater and create space for feminist, queer and intersectional voices. We want to give the stage to female-read, non-binary and trans artists while providing a safe space for the audience and the FLINTA* community.

International artists and collectives from different backgrounds will present their work on topics such as sexuality, body, anger, violence, memory, healing and intersectional discrimination.

The festival invites the audience to actively participate in the discourse. This year's program combines performance, theater, workshops, talks and a photo exhibition.

The Booty Therapy Party by Maïmouna Coulibaly, a mixture of dance, stand-up comedy and political talks with a decolonial perspective, will kick off the festival. Coulibaly's Hot Pussy Show takes a humorous and unsparing look at sexualized violence, body positivity and feminist self-empowerment. Other highlights include the play ALLMACHT, which sheds light on patriarchal structures in the space industry, the autobiographical solo SLUT: A Love Story about feminist, sexual self-determination and Collapsing Beautifully, which addresses female memory and political upheaval. In Silhouette , Tuğba Eskicioğlu vividly conveys global violence against women and marginalized genders without spoken language, while the collective Glossy Pain reflects on the visibility of women and queer identities in art. Workshops, talks and interactive formats such as The Personal is Political: Feminist Practices of Working with Diaries. In the foyer, the exhibition Immaterial Indignities by Mary Katharine Tramontana shows photos on female desire and the deconstruction of normative ideas around desire.
