On Saturday, January 18th at 7pm, I'm hosting the book launch and a little living room reading at my place. There will be snacks and drinks, you can donate to the Cologne Reading Aloud Initiative, meet lovely people and, of course, get to know me - before I take the book to public readings.
Confidence - True Stories of Carrying On and Growing in Difficult Times
I talk about my own experiences (my brother died suddenly at the age of 35, two years later my cousin, a year later my girlfriend with breast cancer ..., workaholic, ghosting, bullying, illness, crisis management during the Costa Concordia disaster, etc.) and how I learned to deal with life's adversities and finally open up instead of continuing to close down.
To finally take control of my life and shape it instead of continuing to play the victim.
For example, I quit my career,
I gave up my apartment,
went to work as a dairymaid on an alp in Switzerland like Heidi (book "Bergsommer"),
took up yoga,
took a coaching course,
became a hiking guide,
accompanied my friend who had breast cancer until she died at the age of 41,
started writing
and worked in a mountain hut at 3,000 m right next to a glacier.
But above all, I talk about 17 other inspiring people and their path to confidence, for example:
a mother who survived the night of the flood in the Ahr valley and kept her family together afterwards
Cora, how she survived domestic violence and fear
Kathi, who overcame her depression,
and Hannah facing her eating disorder,
