With their summer hit "AUTOGRILL", the Viennese collective EUROTEURO has created an eternal catchy tune for all italophile espresso fans. With their second album, released in 2022, the pop collective has proven that they are far more than just a one-hit wonder. Light-footed electropop meets cover versions of XTC and Georg Kreisler songs. This was followed by appearances on Austrian ORF television, a headlining slot at the Vienna Popfest, an invitation to the Fusion Festival near Berlin and many cameo appearances in Austrian films and series. EUROTEURO are now touring the German-speaking world with their expressive synth-pop in a duo line-up with their distinctive Viennese charm.

Their new vinyl record including the single "Teuer", where they sing about the phenomenon of inflation, which has mutated from a ghost to a real bouncer. "900 euros warm. Way too expensive! Breaking the rules - pay the fine. Far too expensive!" A breathless piece of music that attempts to channel the madness that surrounds us to a certain extent. The current single "Zeit" can be seen as an ode to slowing down. Not everything always has to be immediate, sometimes you just have to ask for "a little more time".

"Euroteuro's big moments are New Wave, Neue Deutsche Welle and a bit of post-punk. Three genres that have already played ping pong with music history. Connoisseurs will be delighted by quotes such as a Suicide rhythm machine or the Casio sound of Trio or the citation of Francophile chanson electropop, also a relic from the New Wave era. Bishin to Neue Deutsche Welle Schlager, giving the Euroteuro a dignity that the originals never possessed. Something like this only works well if you go about it completely irony-free, anything else would be student pop disco with a wink certificate, in other words a sham. Euroteuro celebrate a precariat and proletariat uniting shit-dream hedonism ("Insel" or the indestructible debut "Autogrill") and do not stop at the song-turned-application of Bertrand Russell's praise of idleness ("Kündigung", "Sag Alles Ab"). In this sense, lines such as "Just leave your studies" from "Wenn das alle täten" can be interpreted as both ironic and seriously subversive. The refusal of the constant self-optimization demanded by neoliberalism comes up against the lived contradiction of the two emblematic European fetishes of freedom of movement and growth."
