As humans, we are integrated into a variety of social networks. Relationships with others are a fundamental need, but they can also limit us and sometimes make us vulnerable. Based on our interests, experiences, feelings or beliefs, we connect with others or distance ourselves from them. Digital media influence who we come into contact with and how we communicate with each other. Algorithms and filters that we don't really know how they work influence our perception. They create connections with supposedly like-minded people and offer a wide range of opportunities for interaction. How do direct encounters differ from virtual connections? What forms of closeness, belonging and loneliness arise? The exhibition Something Between Us explores these questions through a series of works, including drawings, paintings, photography and video installations. In it, the invited artists examine the assumptions and expectations that underlie our relationships and how a person's position and behavior change depending on their environment.
