In the organizer's words:

It could be a thriller. A woman is kidnapped, murdered and thrown into the Landwehr Canal. Behind it all: a plot, an intrigue. And then: no body. Is she really the dead woman found two months later?

It's all about Rosa Luxemburg. She shaped the thinking of socialist Europeans more than almost any other woman at the beginning of the century - and attracted the hatred of right-wing and left-wing forces. As a Jew, as a communist and not least as a self-confident woman in the public eye, she was admired, despised and ultimately murdered.

Between Paris and Mannheim, Aurélie Youlia and Inka Neubert have reconstructed the life and person of Rosa Luxemburg from her letters and the memories of her nephew Kazimierz Luxemburg for this project. The result is a picture of a strong woman in a time of great upheaval and massive violence. Who is Rosa L.? And what is her fascination today?

Together with the Institut Français Mannheim, we are offering you a supporting program. Not sure if your French is good enough to follow the play?
