As part of the exhibitions A World in Common . Contemporary African Photography and Silvia Rosi . Protectorate . C/O Berlin Talent Award 2024, Dekoloniale Stadtführung and C/O Berlin invite you to a special tour through the so-called African Quarter in Berlin-Wedding.

Immerse yourself in the fascinating past of this area monument and find out why the streets in Wedding are named after African cities or countries such as Togo, Cameroon or Windhoek and how colonial narratives reverberate in the present through allotment associations and supermarkets. The interactive tour promotes awareness and understanding of issues such as street renaming, everyday racism and colonial continuities. Gain a deeper insight into the history and identity of the capital and learn more about the resistance against German colonial rule by pioneers such as Rudolph and Emily Manga Bell, Anna Mungunda and Cornelius Fredericks.

After the tour, participants will receive a coupon for reduced admission to the exhibitions for 6 euros.
