Ensemble uBu: Mutants in Music: III. Dreamteam

In the organizer's words:

When we can no longer find words for a positive common future - because the fronts of opinion have hardened, because individual experience is no longer reflected in general ideals and categories, because the bad news has left us speechless - perhaps we need to change the medium in which we negotiate our (future) dreams?

With "Mutants in Music: Dreamteam", the Cologne-based ensemble uBu explores ways to bring dreams together in music and dance, searching for a shared utopia in the virtuosity of the collective.

Starting on February 20, uBu is calling for a month to fill a public playlist with music that is personally linked to dreams.

uBu will then develop musical and dance strategies to deal with the diversity and contradictions of the musically represented dreams, visions, ideals and utopias and process them into a concert performance.
Can brilliance in dealing with pluralism be achieved together in this way? Can the dream team achieve mastery in collective dreaming?

Following uBu's concert performance, Hamburg sound artist Hye-Eun Kim will play a solo set. She combines her classical music training with free improvisation and repetitive loops to create a synthesis in which hard sounds collide with melodic motifs to explore the space between past, present and a possible future.
