Ensemble Colourage

In the organizer's words:

The Colourage ensemble was founded in 2020. Musicians from the Deutsche Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland-Pfalz and freelance, non-Western musicians responded to the call: "make music together!" They all felt the need to create something new and to musically reflect the diversity of urban societies in the metropolitan region.

In the meantime, Colourage has created its own repertoire as well as its own common identity and shows how a common "we" can succeed in an immigration society.

Quiet and gentle moments merge seamlessly into powerful and passionate passages. Jazz, classical and Arabic music meet rock and moments of epic film music, carried by a dynamic energy that allows freedom to improvise and effortlessly crosses boundaries. In the spirit of Colourage: music comes to life when it crosses borders, combines traditions and courageously breaks new ground.
