ENEMY is the vital new trio featuring bassist Frans Petter Eldh, pianist Kit Downes and drummer James Maddren. Their eponymous debut is described as "fiercely intense" and "beautifully intricate", spotlighting three brilliant and creative musicians dedicated to exploring new worlds of performance and music: total music to which each musician makes an equally authentic aesthetic contribution.

As the band explains: "ENEMY is about intensity and complexity - negotiating cryptic rhythms and weird beats at the speed of light and high energy - our music unites in a storm of density and wild freedom that we write to consciously push each other to our limits - both creatively and technically."

The album was produced by bassist Eldh, who has already produced remixes for Jameszoo - Flake (Brainfeeder) & Andromeda Mega Express Orchestra - Vula, to name just a few of his collaborations. The young Frans Petter was fascinated by electronic music from an early age and the sampler was an important tool in his approach to music. His production style is bold and unconventional, chopping up the original recordings and reassembling them in new ways, adding new subtle layers to manipulate and emphasize certain details in the music.

Each member of ENEMY has received personal recognition in the jazz and music world (including a Mercury Music Award nomination, an ECHO Jazz nomination, several Downbeat Critics Poll nominations and a BBC Jazz Award).

This band is bursting with charisma and energy. Changing pulse and dynamics, the music is powerful, complex and edgy. With a mix of infectious grooves, sweeping piano runs, astounding polyrhythmic drumming and a subtle use of production, Enemy is all muscle, sweeping and flamboyant.
