27 FEB-2 MAR 2025: EMOP OPENING DAYS

With the EMOP Opening Days, EMOP Berlin 2025 is kicking off a month full of exhibitions and events on the medium of photography. For three days, we will bring together a wide variety of actors from theory and practice at the festival center in the Akademie der Künste and discuss current discourses.

In addition to the official opening of the central festival exhibition was zwischen uns steht. Photography as a Medium of Chronicle and the exhibition A Village 1950-2022 by photographers Ute Mahler, Werner Mahler and Ludwig Schirmer, we invite you to artist talks and panel discussions as well as the awarding of the Ellen Auerbach Scholarship and a film evening.

This year, the EMOP Opening Days will be enriched by the new Photos in Books format, in which photo book publishers will present their new publications in numerous Book Talks.

Finally, the EMOP Special Young Scene presents six renowned educational institutions in the field of photography with the opening of the joint exhibition Meet Me Halfway in Leipziger Straße.

Admission to all EMOP Opening Days events is free of charge.
