Hazal's most fervent wish: a life. Despite applying for many jobs, she is not invited to a single interview. Instead, she is stuck in a training program at the job center, which doesn't open up any new opportunities for her. But on her 18th birthday, Hazal feels strong. It's like old times, when she and her friends thought they could achieve anything as long as they stuck together. It's only when they're standing in line at a hip club that Hazal realizes they don't belong here. And she is right. The bouncer turns them down. On the way home, they are harassed by an arrogant student and the situation escalates. Anger at the unending rejection erupts and leads to a momentous act. Hazal flees head over heels to Istanbul, a foreign city in an unfamiliar country. There she must survive alone, whatever the cost. Elbow tells the story of a young woman who is pushed out of society and has to set the course of her life anew. You want to run through the night with her, you want to know what will happen to her and to all of us.
